E-citizen director General Isaac Ochieng has dismissed claims by auditor General Nancy Gathungu that the state has little control over the e-citizen self-service payment portal. A humanitarian crisis is looming in Ahero, Kisumu county after floods rendered most families homeless with roads converted to lakes. Government spokesperson Isaac Mwaura says the overflowing of river Nyando has heavily impacted the river Nyando bridge with the Nairobi - Kisii - Homabay highway becoming impassable..already 238 have died from the heavy downpour.

The 11 member select committee probing the impeachment grounds for removal of agriculture cabinet secretary Mithika Linturi from office is now entering a crucial stage in the next two days as both parties will submit before parliament. This comes even as the sponsor of the motion, Jack Wamboka, is urging the international community to cease and desist working with Linturi and even deny him a travel visa. At the same time Meru leaders led by Deputy Governor Isaac Mutuma are pleading with President William Ruto to intervene and save Linturi from being impeached.

The government has promised to foot all medical expenses of families who lost their loved ones in the Mai Mahiu flood tragedy. While this marks the 9th day since the start of rescue operations, at least 30 families are still waiting to find their missing kin even as the government has been called upon to fast truck measures to mitigate the effects of the raging floods.

President William Ruto has called for the decongestion of Nairobi and 5 other major towns and cities in the country through the expansion of municipalities during the launch of the second kenya urban support program. The initiative is strategically designed to fortify urban institutions' capacities and enhance the delivery and resilience of urban infrastructure and services. The President plans to get 530 million dollars in funding for the project from the World Bank.
